Tejashwi Yadav Asserts Grand Alliance Victory Despite Low Voter Turnout in Bihar's First Phase of 2024 Lok Sabha Elections :

In the initial phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in Bihar, voter turnout stood at 48%, marking a 5% decrease compared to 2019. Responding to this, Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav expressed confidence in the Grand Alliance's prospects, highlighting the intriguing strategic voting pattern that emerged, where votes were cast strategically in their favor despite the lower turnout.

Yadav's Claims of Victory:

Tejashwi Yadav, former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, stated with unwavering confidence, "Though the turnout has diminished, the votes cast have favored the Grand Alliance. BJP's exaggerated claims have fallen flat from the outset. Their rhetoric and falsehoods have crumbled – we are poised to win with substantial support."

Upcoming Bhagalpur Rally:

Regarding Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's participation in an election rally in Bhagalpur, Yadav affirmed that all significant leaders of the Grand Alliance would attend. He added, "We will be there too." In a strong rebuttal to PM Modi's assertion that voting was strong and favored the NDA, Yadav dismissed it with a tone of strength, stating, "Let him talk; he is accustomed to it. Few speak without a teleprompter."

Low Voter Turnout Figures:

The voter turnout figures for the first phase in Bihar reveal 52% in Gaya, 50% in Aurangabad and Jamui, and 41.50% in Nawada. These figures represent a 5% decrease compared to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Both alliances are claiming victory, but the actual outcome will only be known on counting day. The low turnout could indicate voter apathy or dissatisfaction, which could potentially affect the election results.
