Mukhtar Ansari Death:

Mukhtar Ansari's son Umar Ansari's first reaction after his death was that he was not informed of anything.

Mukhtar Ansari, a former legislator and influential figure imprisoned in Banda Jail, was admitted to a medical college after his health deteriorated. Unfortunately, he passed away during treatment. He was admitted to the hospital due to complaints of a heart stroke and was subsequently moved to the ICU due to his critical condition.

This wasn't the first instance of Mukhtar Ansari's health declining. Earlier, his brother and Gazipur MP, Afzal Ansari, had revealed that they received a message from Mohammadabad Police Station informing them about Mukhtar's deteriorating health and his admission to Banda Medical College.

When Mansoor Ansari, Mukhtar's relative, reached Banda Medical College, he claimed that they were denied access to meet Mukhtar and were instructed to obtain permission from the Banda Jail Superintendent. Afzal Ansari further stated that during a virtual hearing of a case in Barabanki Court on March 21, Mukhtar's lawyer applied, alleging that his client had been given "slow poison" in jail, leading to his deteriorating health.

Mukhtar Ansari, who had served as a legislator from Maun, has faced convictions in various cases, and at present, he is incarcerated in Banda Jail. He has around 60 cases pending against him in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, New Delhi, and several other states.

On Mukhtar Ansari's death, Akash Anand said - I am stunned.

BSP leader and Mayawati's nephew, Akash Anand, has said that he is stunned by the news of former legislator Mukhtar Ansari's death. The law and order situation in UP is terrible. Custodial deaths, deaths in court, deaths in hospitals, and now the suspicious death of Mukhtar Ansari raise serious questions about the administration's conduct. May nature give strength to his family to bear this sorrow.

Meanwhile, the Samajwadi Party has expressed grief over Ansari's death through an official post.

DIG (Jail) S.N. Sabat said in a statement that Ansari was observing fast during Ramadan, and his condition deteriorated after breaking his fast on Thursday.

On the other hand, SP leader Ram Gopal Yadav raised questions on Ansari's death. He wrote - The circumstances in which former legislator Mukhtar Ansari died are incredibly worrying. He had already expressed fear of his murder by poison by applying to the court. In the current system, neither is anyone safe in jail, in police custody, or their own homes. By creating an atmosphere of administrative terror, people are being forced to remain silent. Will the Uttar Pradesh government order a judicial inquiry based on the application filed by Mukhtar Ansari in court?
