Kejriwal Betrayed Millions of Indians: Anna Hazare's Attack After ED Action

Anna Hazare, in a letter following Arvind Kejriwal's arrest, expressed deep sorrow over the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in relation to debauchery allegations stemming from the Delhi government's alcohol policy and associated malpractices. Hazare wrote that it is a great disappointment to see someone who was once a colleague at the forefront of the anti-corruption movement arrested for corruption allegations.
In his letter, Hazare stated, "I have spent my entire life fighting against the very corruption that Kejriwal is now accused of. His actions have shattered the trust of millions of Indians. Such behaviour will erode the public's trust in social activists who fight against corruption. It is now clear that a sacred movement has been exploited for political gains."
Hazare further wrote, "When the corruption allegations related to the Delhi government's alcohol policy came to light, I wrote a letter to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on August 30, 2022. I expressed my astonishment and disappointment at the turn of events. A thorough investigation must be conducted into this matter, and I hope that the truth will be revealed to the public and the guilty will be punished. A movement was destroyed for political ambitions, which is very unfortunate."
Hazare clarified in media interviews on Friday (March 22) that when Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia were with us during the movement, I told them that they needed to work for the country's welfare. However, neither of them paid attention to my words, and Kejriwal did not heed my advice. In such a scenario, I won't offer them any advice, and I don't feel any sorrow for Kejriwal's current situation.
