Fact Check: You may get cheated due to free sewing machine, government warns

In India, most frauds occur in the name of the job. Daily, fake sites are created in the name of government schemes and take money from people. People looking for a job trust such sites and then get cheated. Now, Free Silai Machine Yojana 2023 is going viral. It is claimed that the government is giving free sewing machines to the people under the Free Sewing Machine Scheme. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's name is also being used in this scheme.

What is the claim of the Free Sewing Machine Scheme?
The fraudsters have also made some conditions for the free sewing machine scheme in which it is said that only women aged between 20 and 40 will benefit from this scheme. Apart from this, to avail the help of this scheme, women should be financially weak, and the husband's income should not be more than Rs 12 thousand.

You will be surprised to know that this entire scheme is fake. The government is running no such system. The Fact Check Unit of the Press Information Bureau (PIB), an organization working under the government, has called it fake. PIB has said in a post on Twitter that the Central Government is not running any such scheme. This is an attempt to scam; please be careful.
