Navneet Rana

The controversy surrounding the statement made by BJP MP Navneet Rana from Amravati, Maharashtra, during his campaign in Hyderabad for BJP candidate Madhavi Lata is escalating

In a 15-second statement, Navneet provocatively stated that if the police were to withdraw for 15 minutes, they would demonstrate their power in just 15 seconds. This statement has drawn strong reactions from the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), which is demanding action from the Election Commission against the BJP MP.

AIMIM spokesperson Waris Pathan expressed concern over such rhetoric during elections, which he believes can escalate tensions between communities. This is not the first time that AIMIM has accused BJP leaders of violating Election Commission rules. It is worth noting that Hyderabad is considered the stronghold of AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi, and the BJP's Madhavi Lata is contesting from his constituency.

In an interview with Aaj Tak, Waris Pathan expressed his concern over the statements made by BJP leaders during the elections, which he believes is a clear violation of the Election Commission's rules. He further stated that if he had made a similar statement to that of BJP leader Navneet Rana, he would have been behind bars by now. Such statements, if not checked, can escalate tensions between two communities.

The AIMIM spokesperson questioned when the Election Commission will take action against Navneet Rana and when he will be sent to jail. Anti-Muslim rhetoric is being made every day, but no action is taken against anyone. The Constitution is equal for everyone.

During his campaign rally in Hyderabad, Navneet Rana said, "Chhota bhai says remove the police for 15 minutes, then we will show what we can do. I am telling the younger brother (Akbaruddin) I want to say that it will take you 15 minutes, but it will take us only 15 seconds if we come forward."
