Suraj Pal Ammu, a prominent leader of the Rajput community within Haryana's BJP, has parted ways with the party. His decision follows discontent over remarks made by BJP candidate Purushottam Rupala regarding the Rajput community.
Ammu penned a letter to BJP's national president, JP Nadda, expressing his grievances. He expressed disappointment over the party's decision to nominate Rupala, who made insensitive comments about the Kshatriya community. He cited this and the diminishing representation of the Kshatriya community in politics as reasons for his resignation.
In his letter, Ammu lamented the declining respect for the Kshatriya community and the sidelining of veteran leaders within the party. He highlighted incidents where the BJP, in states under its governance, took actions detrimental to the future of thousands of young individuals who protested against the release of the film "Padmavati" to protect the honour of the Kshatriya community.
