Arvinder Singh Lovely's Decision to Join BJP Just Before Delhi Lok Sabha Elections 2024: A Significant Setback for Congress

Amidst the upcoming Delhi Lok Sabha Elections, the Congress party faces a setback as prominent leader Arvinder Singh Lovely, former Delhi Pradesh President, switches allegiance to the BJP. Alongside Lovely, former minister Rajkumar Chauhan, ex-MLAs Nasib Singh and Neeraj Basoya have also joined the BJP, bringing a significant shift in the political dynamics of the capital.

Arvinder Singh Lovely's departure from the Congress party and his subsequent switch to the BJP is not a sudden decision. It comes on the heels of his resignation from the position of Delhi Pradesh Congress President, a move that was seen as a sign of his disagreement with the Congress's alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party. This is not the first time Lovely has been associated with the BJP; he had previously joined the party in 2017 ahead of the Delhi Municipal Corporation elections, only to return to Congress after a few months.
