Terrorism: NIA raids in 31 cities, ISIS terror lessons going on under the guise of teaching Arabic in study centres

In the raids of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in many states of South India, a big revelation has been made about the school of 'terror'. The investigating agency has raided 31 locations in Tamil Nadu and Telangana to foil a recruitment drive inspired by the global terrorist organisation ISIS. Whatever objectionable material has been recovered during the raids, it appears that ISIS is trying to mislead the innocent youth in India and bring them on the path of radicalism. New methods are being explored to recruit youth. For this, study centres have been opened in various cities. There, under the guise of teaching 'Arabic', a school for 'ISIS' terrorists runs. The ideology of 'Khilafat' was being propagated in these schools. Later, the youth coming out of these schools follow the path of terrorism. They try to break the unity and integrity of India.

According to NIA, in view of the recruitment campaign of ISIS and its future planning, raids were conducted at 31 places in Tamil Nadu and Telangana on Saturday. Indian and foreign currency, as well as several digital devices and documents, have been seized in the raid. The anti-terrorism agency has recovered mobile phones, laptops and hard disks in Tamil Nadu and Telangana. The data present in it is being examined. During the search, Rs 60 lakh in Indian currency and US$ 18,200, along with several objectionable books in local and Arabic languages, were also seized. The raids have been conducted at the premises of suspects involved in the TN ISIS radicalisation and recruitment case (RC-01/2023/NIA/CHE). Attacks have been conducted at 22 locations in Coimbatore, three in Chennai and one location in Kadaiyanallur in the Tenkasi district of Tamil Nadu. The other five locations were raided in Hyderabad/Cyberabad in Telangana state. This action has been taken under the case registered by NIA Chennai under sections 120B, 121A of IPC and sections 13, 18, and 18B of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967.

The investigating agency had come to know that a group of people were secretly working to radicalise innocent youth. For this, regional study centres have been opened in various cities. It is said that Arabic language classes will be organised there. However, investigation revealed that fundamentalism was being carried out there under the guise of Arabic. Such radical activities were also going on on social media platforms like WhatsApp. Apart from this, radicalisation was also being carried forward online through the Telegram mobile application. NIA investigation has revealed that ISIS-inspired agents were engaged in propagating the inciting Khilafat ideology. This ideology is harmful to India's constitutionally established principles of secularism and democracy. The group of persons involved in the case had conspired to radicalise and recruit youth.

The youth who came out from here were later found to be involved in terrorist and illegal acts and activities. NIA has linked this case to the Coimbatore car bomb blast case of October 23, 2022. That case is related to a terrorist attack. For this, weak and susceptible youth are included in terrorist networks. Investigation of many such cases is ongoing as part of NIA's concerted efforts to foil the actions of ISIS. In the coming time, the activity of many other similar groups may also be revealed. These groups aim to disturb peace and communal harmony in the country. The terrorist organisation is trying to spread terrorism through these groups.
