They have reaffirmed their commitment to always abide by the law. After the Supreme Court's criticism, Yoga Guru Ramdev and Patanjali Ayurved Limited Managing Director (MD) Balkrishna repeated their apology on April 24, 2024, regarding the case of misleading advertising. Patanjali published an unconditional apology in a newspaper.
The newspaper apology stated, "The case is ongoing in the Supreme Court." In view of this, we, as a company and personally, apologize unconditionally. We are following the instructions given by the Supreme Court. We also apologize unconditionally for the press conference held on November 22, 2023. We apologize for the mistake made in publishing our ads and are committed to ensuring that such a mistake will not occur again.
Yoga gurus Ramdev and Balkrishna have made a solemn pledge that such a mistake will not happen again in the future. They have unequivocally stated, "We promise to follow the court's order." We will always comply with laws and instructions.
In fact, during the hearing on April 23, 2024, the court asked whether the size of the apology ad was the same as that of the misleading ads. During the hearing, Yoga Guru Ramdev and Balkrishna argued that they had published an unconditional apology in the newspapers for the mistakes made in the misleading advertisement case.
The bench of Justice Hima Kohli and Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah instructed the lawyers of Ramdev and Balkrishna to present the apology published in the newspaper within two days. Senior lawyer Mukul Rohatgi, representing Ramdev and Balkrishna, stated that they had published an apology in 67 newspapers across the country on April 22, 2024. The case will be heard again on April 30. The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has accused Patanjali of running a propaganda campaign against COVID-19 vaccination and modern medical practices, and the Supreme Court is currently hearing this case.
