P20 Summit: 'The world is facing crises due to conflict, it is not in anyone's interest', PM Modi said in the P-20 Summit

PM Modi said that about 20 years ago, terrorists had targeted our Parliament. At that time, Parliament was in session, and the terrorists intended to arrest and eliminate the MPs. The world is also realising how big a challenge terrorism is for the world.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated the ninth conference of the Presiding Chairmen of Parliaments of G20 member countries (P20) at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre. During this, he said that this summit is, in a way, a Mahakumbh of different parliamentary practices from around the world. All of your representatives are experienced in different parliamentary working styles. It is a great pleasure for all of us that you are coming to India with such rich democratic experiences.

Without naming the crisis arising in Israel, PM Modi said that no one is untouched by whatever is happening in different corners of the world today. Today, the world is facing crises because of conflict. This is not in anyone's interest. A divided world cannot provide solutions to the significant challenges facing humanity. This is a time of peace and brotherhood. It's time to move forward together. This is the time for everyone's development and welfare. We have to overcome the global trust crisis and move forward with human-centric thinking. We must move the world forward with One Earth, One Family and One Future.

PM Modi said, 'Next year, general elections are going to be held once again in India. I extend an advance invitation to all of you delegates at the P20 Summit to watch the general elections to be held next year. India will be pleased to host you again.

We consider general elections as the most significant festival: PM.
He said that in India, we consider general elections as the most significant festival. Since independence in 1947, 17 general elections and more than 300 assembly elections have been held in India. India not only conducts the world's most significant elections, but people's participation in it is also increasing. My fellow citizens have made my party victorious for the second consecutive time. The 2019 general election was the most significant human exercise in human history. Sixty crore voters took part in this. There were 91 crore registered voters in India then, which is more than the total population of the entire Europe. This shows how much trust people have in parliamentary processes in India.

Earlier, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla welcomed the delegates to the 9th G20 Parliamentary Speakers Summit (P20). After this, he addressed the conference (P20). He said that it is a matter of great pride that the New Delhi Declaration was unanimously accepted in the G20 Leaders Summit chaired by India. This reflects the impressive leadership and global vision of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is also a testament to the unity and commitment of the G20 countries to global challenges. The P20 summit reflects our commitment to international convergence of democratic values and shared parliamentary efforts to address issues of global importance and contemporary challenges. According to the Prime Minister's Office, the summit is being hosted by Parliament as part of the broader framework of India's G20 chairmanship. Like India's presidency of the G20, the theme of the ninth P20 summit is 'Parliament for One Earth, One Family, One Future'.
