After this, the police swung into action and arrested the four accused through surveillance and CCTV footage. While the 5th main charge, Pradyuman, was contained in an encounter within 2 hours at 8 am. Police got information that the accused was going towards Ekla Bandhe. After this, the police laid siege to the miscreant. Seeing the police, the miscreant started firing. While in the firing, the bullet of the police hit the leg of the accused. He got injured in this. The police arrested him, too, and admitted him to BRD Medical College for treatment.

Gorakhpur's SSP Dr. Gaurav Grover said that around 3.30 am to 4 am on Thursday around the Gida police station area of Gorakhpur, information was received that a girl who was going from the railway station to her home in the Nausad area by auto. Some boys stopped the auto and forcefully made them sit on a two-wheeler and took them to the guava garden near Ekla Bandhe. After this, the incident of rape took place there. After getting the information, the police team was inspected by the high officials after reaching there. Information about the incident was taken from the girl. After this, a primary accused was identified. With the help of surveillance and CCTV, a police team was formed, and police station Gida, Rajghat, and other teams cordoned off the criminals within a few hours. The police team was fired upon by the main accused. The police fired in retaliation.

The SSP said that the main accused, Pradyuman, was injured. Apart from this, four other associates have also been arrested in the incident. The girl's condition is average. His medical has been done.
