On the photo of the card going viral, Alok says that the card was printed to trap him. He said that Jyoti was not a teacher when the marriage took place, she was only studying and the card is completely false. Said that the date, day, name and address in the wedding card are correct, but the officer written under his name is not correct.

According to the report of Aaj Tak's Anand Raj, Alok Maurya has filed a complaint at the Dhumanganj police station as well as at the Home Guard Headquarters. It is alleged that SDM Jyoti Maurya had relations with the officer posted as Home Guard Commandant in Ghaziabad and conspired with that person to kill him. Alok has also mentioned some WhatsApp chats in the complaint.
