Hulk will always be the largest hero on the battlefield. He hits extremely hard and can tank hits remarkably well but he moves a little slower and is not nearly as mobile as the rest of the Avengers. He’s best suited for players that prioritize damage over strategic moves. If your ultimate goal is to smash things and wreak havoc, he’s the Avenger for you.
This isn’t to say that Hulk is just a button mashing hero. There’s plenty of nuance to be had within his moveset. His skills are based around his ability to power himself up, clear a battlefield, and combo his way to victory. If you’re used to playing tanks in a game where that’s an option, we suggest maining Hulk.
Ms Marvel is a great character to use if you want to play someone more ranged but aren’t too great at aiming. Iron Man is a great ranged hero too but if you’re playing him, you’re going to need to be good at putting a reticle on an enemy. If you prefer to just throw punches and kicks in the general direction of an enemy and see said punches and kicks land, Ms Marvel is a great pick for you.
Because her superpower is stretchiness, she’s able to traverse both horizontally and vertically incredibly well. She’s also able to use her reach to her advantage. Instead of getting up close in the action like Black Widow might, Ms Marvel can sit on the fringe outskirts of a battlefield and throw her punches from there. You can even aim down sights for one of her punches. Much like the other characters, there’s nuance to be had within her movesets combo abilities.
If you want to play long range but still want the option to get in close, we suggest maining Ms Marvel.
If you want to play this game focusing on combos, Black Widow is the character for you. Not only does she have the most combo potential between her Widow’s Line grappling hook traversal abilities, her guns, and her kicks and fists, she’s easily the fastest fighter at any given point on the field. She’s fast, can get in and out faster than other heroes, and fits players not afraid to get right in the middle of the action.
If you’re the kind of player who can’t wait to get the fight started, Black Widow will feel right at home. Because she has so few long-range attacks, your success with her will depend entirely upon your ability to manipulate the close-range playing field to your advantage. Kick this enemy, shoot at this one, grapple to this one, and hit this one with a baton — Black Widow’s moves work together in great harmony when used correctly. If you’re interested in perfecting the art of the combo, we suggest maining Black Widow.
Do you want to blow things up and punch things too? Iron Man is the character for you. Iron Man has essentially three different playing modes: on the ground, hover, and in-air. This makes him the most versatile and the hero with the most variety in moveset. His ground playstyle plays much like the rest of the Avengers — he punches, he kicks, and he can mix the two with repulsor blasts and laser beams using combos.
His hover ability allows him to dash around the battlefield with ease, inflicting damage on a number of enemies in just a few seconds. He can increase his height and decrease it with the press of a button meaning if you want to hang high and shoot at enemies below, you can totally do that.
His ability to fly turns his moveset into that of a fighter jet. You have full control of his movement in the air and you have access to his repulsor blasts. Fly around and fire away.
This will, of course, require your aim to be precise as it’s easy to miss shots when flying around as Iron Man.
If you crave this kind of versatility on the battlefield and feel safe knowing you can quickly fly away from the fight should you need some time to recover, we suggest maining Iron Man.
