According to the information received from the police, a joint NAKA party of CRPF and police stationed in the Kerry area of Baramulla district was suddenly attacked by some militants this morning. Three jawans were seriously injured in this attack on Naka Party by ambush. These included one SPO of Jammu and Kashmir and two CRPF personnel. The injured were immediately rushed to the nearest hospital. The doctors declared SPO Muzaffar Ahmed brought dead, while the other two CRPF personnel, Lokesh Sharma and Khurshid Khan, also succumbed to injuries during the treatment.
Confirming this, IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that an SPO of Jammu and Kashmir Police and two CRPF personnel have been killed in an attack by militants in Baramulla this morning. They said that these terrorists were hiding near the Naka Party. On getting a chance, he suddenly started firing on him. Earlier, the security personnel escaped from the scene, handling and firing their positions.
At the same time, additional troops of the army, CRPF and police reached the spot and they started a search operation while sieging the area. Security forces said that they have sealed the entire area. At present, search is being done for the outer areas, after that house-to-house will also be searched. This is the second attack on militants’ security forces in the last 24 hours in North Kashmir. On Sunday, militants attacked a Sopore village army patrol.
